Australian man arrested for posting sex video of himself in a bath

Posted May 08, 2019 10:31:33 An Australian man has been arrested on suspicion of sexual activity with a child after allegedly posting a sex video on Facebook and Twitter of himself being in a bathroom.

Police allege the 23-year-old allegedly filmed himself with a phone and then shared it on social media.

“He’s a young man who has been in Australia for almost seven years and has lived in the city of Melbourne for almost five years,” Detective Superintendent Mick Lakin said.

“We have a young child that he is having sexual activity on a phone.”

He said the man was not in Australia when the alleged offences were allegedly committed.

Detective Superintendent Lakin described the alleged behaviour as “outrageous”.

He said he had spoken to the man in the past and that he had pleaded guilty to the offence in a local court.

He said it was a “sickening” act and he was worried about the safety of the child involved.

“It’s disgusting, disgusting behaviour,” Detective Inspector Lakin told reporters outside the Magistrates Court.

“I would urge anyone who sees this to contact police immediately.”

The man’s name has not been released.

He was remanded in custody until his next appearance on May 29.

The alleged offences allegedly occurred between February 2018 and August 2019.

The victim told police she was 14 at the time of the alleged sexual activity and that the man’s behaviour was “shocking”.

She said she was not sure if she was aware the man had a criminal record.

“The man is a young, naive person who just wants to have fun,” the woman said.

The police investigation into the alleged incident is ongoing.
